Just wanted to update all on my research on a possible Continental Trip.
Even though at times my 48 State Trip seemed unplanned, there was 3 years of car prep and forum contacts . Yes , I rarely knew where I was staying 3 days in advance, but I always felt that I was not but a phone call away from your help.
I have had long talks with my family and considering how much time I have spent on my car and 48 state trip, the extra responsibilities that I delegated to my family during that time , it would be unfair of me to do so again so soon.
Going to Europe will take a great deal of planning and building up many contacts abroad. I still have to do a bit of work on the car from the last trip.
For this year, I will work on car, drive a lot, and continue working on a publication of my trip. It was a lot easier saying I was going to write a book than it is doing it.
2012 will be my target. Thanks for all your encouragement, but , sometimes you just can't be Peter Pan .
So , I will still be asking for help and info on Europe. I still have to replace my windshield, but want to wait for warm weather.
Took the car out for a couple of hours today. Lots of sun, 15 degrees, roads dry.

Die Diskussionen mit seiner Familie die zwischen den Zeilen durchschimmert, kann ich mir lebhaft vorstellen. "Schatz, ich hau' mal eben nach good old Europe ab. Paris werde ich ohne dich erkunden, Rom und London auch. Komme in 3-4 Monaten wieder, tschüssi."
Ich hoffe, er zieht es dann doch noch durch. Dafür kommt aber noch das Buch raus über seinen US Trip vom letzten Jahr.
