Hi Junkman,
the problem how to get short licence plates and where to attach the long ones if you don't have a cosy relation to the authorities is one of the big themes here in the forum (apart from oil threads).
When you get the standard size plate in germany you are indeed in trouble with the C5 (but also other corvettes). All solutions are more or less dissatisfying.
You can see many good and bad examples in this thread.

My option for the standard (long) plate requires no drilling into visible places of the body panels however you have to custom fabricate a plate holder.
