Sometimes there usually are some professional photographers during the week, hoping to catch something interesting during the track tests.

The text by Dave Hill is a bit weird.

We run on the Nurburgring during Industry Days, which permit specially licensed development drivers from Industry to drive at speed on this fantastic facility.

So "Industry Days" just refers to the days the ring is booked by companies to track testing. Or are those special days?

With so much traffic on the Nurburgring (you might encounter everything from a GTI to an SLR in a typical lap) you can imagine how unpredictable a "clean lap" would be.

This sounds like tourist driving. Or are there special events where Mercedes, GM and VW test all at once?
