Im NCRS "Corvette Technical Information Manual and Judging Guide" für die Modelle 1980-1982 heißt es:
"Spare Tire
The spare tire was of the „space saver“ design, and did not match the four road tires. The manufacturer of the space saver spare was Goodyear, who referred to it as a „Polyspare“. The sidewall displayed the Goodyear name in black outline letters. The words „TEMPORARY USE ONLY“ were in block letters with „MAX. SPEED 50 M.P.H.“ underneath in black outline letters. The size for the spare was P195 / 80D15.
Spare Wheel
The spare wheel is a standard steel 15 x 5 rim. Spare wheels were painted semi-gloss black. The valve stem and valve cap were black."
Demnach gab es offenbar zumindest in der GM-Originalausstattung der 80-82er C3 ein "Notrad".
