Hello,

The Cross-Fire Injection system is VERY reliable!

It's actually a pretty simple system and if the car is fresh and the system unhacked (no cut wires, no bypassed ECM RAM and other tricks of concealment) you should be a very happy camper with it.

I've tinkered with enough CFI systems to say that I have never seen one that couldn't be fixed fairly easy or cheap.

The performance is not that bad at all, it has more power than most base engines of the previous years! Also, it's a torque engine and therefore excellent for in tow, especially in combination w/ the short 1st gear on the 700R4. An additional plus is that the 700 gives good cruising on the highway w/ it's overdrive.

Also, the aluminium differential w/ a one piece carrier & lid is used from 1980 - 1982 and it was carried over in the C4 in a modified version. The C4 Dana36&44 carriers fit the 80-82 frame! (the carriers & cases can't be switched! the positioning of the tokes and therefore the depth of the lid is different, bolt patter on the 80-82 Dana 44 is the same as the C4 one but as said incompatible because of ring gear!)
