Vielleicht ganz interessant. Im C6 Vette Registry Forum war zur kommenden 6Gang Automatik folgendes zu lesen:

this is from a dealer posting. I have some scant info that it is indeed correct. Apparently the 3LT-Lt option code is the old 1SB plus the Z51 package and navagation.
the big deal to me is MXO...apparently now 6 speed. I see no G90 option for the 3.15 axle. For what it is worth I captured the following...

I found some specs on the STS-V Hydra-Matic 6L80. It has a listed 430 lb-ft of torque capacity versus the current C6 4L65E of 380. The six speed in the caddy has a 258 mm torque converter versus 300 mm in the 4L65E. The fact that it has a torque converter says that GM went cheap versus the Audi twin countershaft model. The gear ratios of the 6 speed versus the (4 speed) are listed below. The lower gear ratio for the 6 speed first gear suggest to me that the G90 axle (3.15) probably won't be offered for 2006, which is consistent with the option list I published above.

I was about to order my C6 Monday but read about the new 6spped auto replacing the 4 spd. Any idea how soon this new tranny will become available?

Dealers can not order 2006 Corvettes until late June. The tranny will only be in the 2006 model year and that production doesn't start till September 9th.

Evtl werden die A4 Preise bei den gebrauchten C6 dann etwas mehr fallen als üblich . . .

wow, direkt mit 6 Gängen.
Da das 4L65E soweit ich heraus finden konnte (bitte korrigiert mich, ach was das werdet Ihr schon tun) die gleichen
Abmessungen wie das 4L60E hat, stellt sich mir die Frage:

Könnte man auch das 4L60E durch das "neue" A6 Getriebe ersetzen? Ich denke da würden sich so einige Probleme auf einen Schlag erledigen.

sollten die abmessungen passen, wird wohl eher die steuerung des 6-gang getriebes das problem sein.

das 4-gang steuergerät kann es sichlich nicht.

Mich wundert, dass die amerikanischen Freunde so erstaunt sind. Jedenfalls haben wir schon vor einem Jahr gepostet, dass das 2006er Modell mit 6 Gang Automatik kommt.

Die Info habe ich von einem Herrn beim ersten Eifeltrfeffen bekommen, der die C6 zu diesem Zeitpunkt bereits im Testgelände gesehen hat.

Ich habe nämlich meine Bestellung auf Eis gelegt, weil ich auch auf die neue Automatik warte.
