At least in Switzerland this has not been allowed for at least 15 years, mainly for environmental reasons to prevent oil, gas and other chemicals to seep into the water. Gas stations and other places where you can wash your car have either closed water circuits or other means to prevent that. Guess it's the same in Germany.

In the states, the car washing isn't the problem... its our own Environmental PROTECTION Agency that is dumping toxins into the rivers...

Despite the rain, I took the 67 anyway... and am glad I did!
The group was very friendly and made me feel right at home! I am sorry my German isn't very good, so I didn't get to talk to everybody, but thank you for the warm welcome and I look forward to next month!
